CIHI is seeking a skilled and highly respected strategic leader to join its Executive Team as Vice President & CIO.
An independent, not-for-profit organization, CIHI provides essential information on Canada’s health systems and the health of Canadians - technology, in all its forms, is core to delivering on CIHI’s mandate. The essence of the VP & CIO role is to: enable CIHI’s overall business strategy and planning; oversee major technological and change initiatives (e.g. big data, digital, cloud); lead a department of close to 200 staff that are key to enabling CIHI’s mission and business goals; collaborate with colleagues across the organization; provide strategic direction for enterprise architecture, data, information and product management, IT security and compliance, and supporting policies and governance structures; develop creative partnerships and represent CIHI externally to stakeholders, partners, vendors, governments, etc.; and champion the role and value of quality health information.
As the ideal VP & CIO candidate, you are an inspiring and inclusive team leader, an excellent communicator, an experienced project/change manager, a trusted and credible partner, and a strategic driver who appreciates how technology can enable business success. You hold a graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, and several years of progressive leadership experience in a CIO or equivalent senior strategic management role in healthcare or a related field.
