As the HIS Project Executive Lead, in close collaboration with the project Steering Committee, this AVP will report to the SVP, Enterprise Risk & Chief Information and Privacy Officer to lead and support the execution of this project and will work closely with leaders and frontline staff across the organization. Through this work, the AVP will deliver comprehensive clinical information tools that will enhance patient safety, quality of care, efficiency, business intelligence and innovation. Specifically, the HIS system transformation will involve replacing three existing information systems and adopting a chosen HIS product.
Key leadership initiatives for the new AVP will be to:
  • Champion the organizational transformation of a common HIS, a multimillion-dollar IT investment.

  • Provide leadership for the development and execution of the IT system modernization strategy, providing direction for a broad and complex corporate change initiative, from design through to execution and adoption.

  • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders, within and beyond THP, ensuring effective health system engagement and the development and sustainability of regional partnerships.

  • Ensure efficient project management principles and practices are in place to manage a highly demanding project, on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will have at least 8-10 years of progressive experience in health care and/or a similarly complex sector/industry. This is a newly created role that requires someone that has a demonstrated track record in successful, large-scale information technology system implementation (preferably in health care), executive-level leadership and project governance, organizational change management, team building and coordinated execution.  Further, the AVP will embody excellence in customer service, commitment to high quality communications and be highly effective at stakeholder engagement.
