Vice President, Knowledge, Practice and Chief Nurse Executive

Island Health is seeking a Full-time Vice President, Knowledge, Practice and Chief Nurse Executive on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Join Island Health’s Executive Leadership team and champion a patient and family centered culture of excellence, learning, collaboration and accountability.

Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Vice President (VP), Knowledge, Practice and Chief Nurse Executive is responsible and accountable for providing corporate leadership and expert advice on nursing, allied health, professional practice, and research.

This responsibility involves consulting, advising and initiating strategies in collaboration with clinical programs, integrating quality improvement and regulatory standards into practice and information systems, and providing effective leadership in defining the quality of care processes for Island Health. This includes establishing and maintaining service delivery models to support the strategic direction of Island Health and the forecasted service capacity levels and developing a research agenda focused on incorporating best practices based on evidence into care delivery.

  • A Master’s degree in Nursing with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience
  • PH.D. preferred
  • Registration with the BC College of Nursing Professionals
  • Certified Health Executive (CHE) preferred
