The GTA Chapter of the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) is excited to have Dr. Peter Nord, President and CEO of Stillbrook Accessible Retirement Residences, Inc. and previously CMO for Unity Health Toronto shares insights of how a social entrepreneurial focus in healthcare can add value to clinical programs, operations, and partnerships in a complex, resource-constrained environment.

Featured Speaker: Dr. Peter Nord, President and CEO, Stillbrook Accessible Retirement Residences, Inc.

Dr. Peter Nord is currently President and CEO of Stillbrook Accessible Retirement Residences, Inc., developing affordable retirement living communities across Ontario. Previously, Dr. Nord was a V.P., CMO at Unity Health Toronto, serving on the executive team, which brought the three legacy hospitals together. He was Site Lead for Providence Healthcare in 2018.

He is the Attending Physician for a 35 bed Stroke/Neuro Rehabilitation Unit within Providence Hospital. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, involved with teaching and research activities, and holds his FCFP designation.

He co-chairs the Rehabilitative Care Alliance, accountable for improving the quality and efficiency of Ontario’s rehabilitation sector. He is also the provincial Physician Champion for ALC through the Cancer Care Ontario/Access To Care, a key thought-leader in the area of improving patient flow and reducing “Hallway Medicine”.

Dr. Nord trained at McMaster University and the University of Toronto. He subsequently practised in Etobicoke and was co-founder of the Institute of Sports Medicine and Human Performance. He went on to hold senior leadership positions in the US with several health systems and was Medical Director for Anthem BlueCross for a number of years. He was also the President of The Flying Hospital, Inc., an international non-profit humanitarian relief organization, and subsequently went on to found a charter airline, through his company Global Health Ventures.

College members who refer a new active member will be entered into a draw for a free 1-year membership. Please ask the referred individual to note your name in the “how did you learn about the College” field on their membership application form, so that we may include your name in the draw. The lucky winner will be selected in September from all qualified participants from the previous 12 months.
