Stephan Plourde, CHE
Canadian Armed Forces Director
Colonel Stephan (Steve) Plourde is currently Commander of 4 Health Services Group, headquartered in Montreal, and is responsible for health services delivery to Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritime Provinces and operational health services support to domestic and international missions. He joined the Canadian Forces in 1985 and is a military health executive. He has held several command responsibilities nationally and abroad as well as occupied positions both in health services delivery, training, strategic planning and health informatics. A graduate from the Master of Health Science program at the University of Toronto, he was chosen by the faculty as the recipient of the Robert Wood Johnson Award, given by Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies in conjunction with the Canadian College of Health Leaders to the "student most likely to make a noteworthy contribution in the field of Health Services Administration". He was presented with the Meritorious Service Medal in 2014 by His Excellence, the Governor-General for his successful efforts at building sustainable capacity within the Afghan National Security Forces medical services. Steve is a Certified Health Executive, has been an active surveyor with Accreditation Canada since 2005 and most recently served as Chair of the CAF Starlight Chapter of the CCHL.
