October 20, 2020
On June 10, 2020, a group of 19 surgeons representing diverse specialties and healthcare organizations across Canada took part in an online Health Professionals’ Roundtable for Strategy (HPRS) Forum, a program of the Canadian College of Health Leaders with the theme, “COVID-19 Response: Clearing Surgical Backlogs and Adapting Surgical Care Delivery.”
This event was sponsored by Medtronic Canada and co-chaired by Dr. Carl Brown, Dr. Elijah Dixon, Dr. Patrick Harris, Dr. Shaf Keshavjee, and Dr. Tom Waddell.
The objective of the HPRS Forum was to develop a draft list of recommendations for Canadian policy makers and hospitals to use in their local/provincial recovery plans for elective surgeries.
