Brandon Tsätsʼät (Mouse) Blackwood is a citizen of the Trʼondëk Hwëchʼin First Nation of Dawson City, Yukon, Brandon currently resides in the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan people, colonially known as Vernon, BC, with his wife and two sons. Brandon is the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) Health Emergency Management BC (HEMBC) Indigenous Liaison for the Interior Health Authority, and Emergency Management Specialist for the North Okanagan. Brandon’s work within PHSA/HEMBC, as well as prior work with the Canadian Red Cross as Indigenous Programs Project Officer for BC and Yukon, have reflected his passion and dedication to Indigenous Cultural Safety as he has shared his unique personal connection and lived experience, as well as his energy and enthusiasm, into every space to walk alongside friends and colleagues in support of their learning journeys.
