Join us for a comprehensive discussion on Operational Stress Injuries, what they are and how they affect military members and their families. We will explore clinical signs of OSIs and potential treatments, as well as reviewing the barriers and challenges to treatment. We will discuss recommendations for consideration, and how to access supporting organizations. Elizabeth Piper
With a distinguished career spanning all sectors of health care, Elizabeth Piper is recognized as an exceptional leader at both organizational and systemic levels. Her extensive clinical and managerial experience reflects a commitment to interdisciplinary excellence and healthcare innovation. Currently, she serves as a Manager of the Royal Ottawa Operational Stress Injury Clinic (OSIC) where she leads an interdisciplinary mental health team in delivering evidence-based treatment for OSIs, including PTSD, anxiety, and mood disorders, to veterans, RCMP officers, and military members.
Elizabeth's leadership at the OSI clinic embodies the highest standards of patient-centered care, fostering collaboration among psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other supporting team members to optimize outcomes for patients and their families. Leveraging her broad expertise, she champions strengths-based, person-centered approaches grounded in best practices, while advancing systemic improvements in mental health service delivery for those affected by OSIs across Canada.
