Join us virtually for a CEO fireside chat with David Diamond, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Acute Care Alberta, and one of Canada’s most experienced health system leaders navigating transformation at scale. The conversation will be moderated by Tyler Tamayose, a healthcare transformation leader and trusted system advisor across Alberta’s health ecosystem.

Alberta is at a pivotal moment. Health leaders are being asked to deliver stability while driving meaningful change, to innovate without overwhelming frontline teams, and to execute in systems growing more complex by the day. This fireside chat is designed to meet leaders where they are and offer practical insight grounded in real experience. Together, the conversation will explore what leaders consistently underestimate during large-scale system change, how to sustain momentum when organizations are fatigued, and how innovation can move beyond pilots into lasting impact. David will share lessons from leading health systems across Canada, including how alignment, execution, and resilience show up in real-world decision-making.

This session is for leaders who want candid reflection, practical wisdom, and a clearer view of what leadership demands in today’s environment. Whether you’re an emerging leader or a seasoned executive, you’ll leave with perspectives you can bring back to your teams and organizations immediately.

Featured Speaker:

David Diamond, Interim, CEO Acute Care Alberta

A national healthcare leader with a rare, coast to coast perspective on system transformation. David Diamond, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Acute Care Alberta, has spent more than three decades leading some of the most complex health systems in the country. His work has shaped care delivery in Newfoundland and Labrador, helped guide Alberta through its earliest years as a single provincial organization, and built international partnerships that have influenced how health systems innovate. David’s journey began in human resources, long before he ever imagined a career in healthcare leadership. That unexpected pivot set him on a path from small rural communities in Newfoundland to senior leadership roles across Canada. He later served as President and CEO of Eastern Health, followed by CEO of the newly formed NL Health Services, where he led the province’s transition to a unified health authority. That experience helped define his approach to system change, grounded in execution, alignment, and resilience. He returns to Alberta now with the same clarity and steadiness he has brought to every major transformation in his career. David is known for leading with humility, staying close to the frontline, and maintaining a strong focus on outcomes that matter for patients and communities. His innovation work, including Living Lab partnerships with global industry and academic leaders, demonstrates how even smaller jurisdictions can drive meaningful breakthroughs through collaboration, practical experimentation, and value based thinking.

Moderator:

Tyler Tamayose, President, Banyan Strategies

Tyler Tamayose is President of Banyan Strategies and a recognized thought leader in healthcare transformation across Alberta’s health and life sciences ecosystem. His work focuses on helping organizations navigate complexity, align strategy with execution, and drive meaningful system change. Tyler brings a systems perspective shaped by experience across acute care, primary care, government, municipalities, and the innovation landscape. Through his role with the Canadian College of Health Leaders, he convenes executive-level conversations that surface practical insight, diverse perspectives, and leadership lessons that resonate across the health system.
