Deborah Mitchell, Chief Strategy Officer & Vice President, Governance, Providence Health Care Deborah Mitchell has held the role of Chief Strategy Officer & Vice President, Governance at Providence Health Care (PHC) since September 2020. She joined the Providence Health Care Senior Leadership Team in 2012 as Director of Executive Services within the Office of the CEO and progressed to roles as the Corporate Director, Strategic Initiatives & Special Projects and Vice President, Seniors Care, Organizational Strategy & Partnerships. Deborah’s portfolio includes PHC’s Office of Strategy and Results, which has the mandate to develop, monitor, and oversee execution of PHC's strategic plan and priority projects, including project and change management. Deborah also holds leadership of PHC’s Leadership, Talent and Organizational Development team, with responsibility for leadership and talent development, team effectiveness and coaching. Additionally, as Vice-President, Governance, Deborah provides senior leadership and oversight to governance processes for PHC's Board of Directors and related entities. Deborah has over 25 years of progressive leadership experience with a variety of health care organizations in the public and private sectors. She holds an Executive MBA from the Beedie School of Business and a BSc in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University.
