During these times of continuing uncertainty and upheaval, health leaders are constantly facing new leadership challenges to ensure ongoing service delivery and innovation, and create integrated systems that best serve patients, families, essential care partners, and our health and care workforce. Agile and adaptive leadership is being required to move systemic change forward more quickly. Healthcare Excellence Canada, the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) and the Canadian Health Leadership Network (CHLNet) together have created a national health leadership huddle program. Using Chatham House Rule, leaders dialogue with their peers on an identified leadership challenge to gain others perspectives and strategies.

If you are an executive leader (CXO, Chief Nursing or Chief Medical Officer) within a health or care delivery organization, join us for a candid conversation and sharing session. Huddles are only 50 minutes in length and are run quarterly. Each huddle involves a short statement by an executive leader on a pressing leadership challenge. This is followed by a 40-minute discussion led by a certified facilitator to share experiences with your peers and perhaps share strategies, tools and practices. The intent is to offer a safe space to share effective leadership practices.

Melanie MacKinnon, Head and Executive Director, Indigenous Institute of Health and Healing (Ongomiizwin), Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba has agreed to share her challenge: As a leader, how do you innovate and still follow the rules?

Registration is limited to 30 participants on a first come first serve basis.
