The partnership agreement serves as an avenue to promote excellence in the health leadership field and provides the program with the opportunity to incorporate the LEADS framework into its curriculum.

The Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) has awarded LEADS certification to the Schulich Executive Education Centre (SEEC) in the Schulich School of Business at York University. The partnership agreement provides Masters Certificate in Healthcare Management program participants with an opportunity to obtain their Certified Health Executive (CHE) designation.

Through this agreement, participants in the Masters Certificate in Healthcare Management program will work towards obtaining their CHE designation, the only certification program for Canadian health leaders. This program offers individual leaders several benefits, including support for lifelong learning in health services leadership, assistance with career advancement, peer recognition and also serves as an essential career designation.

“We are excited about this collaboration with the Schulich Executive Education Centre, who show their commitment to health leadership by committing to have the CHE as a preferred designation for their students,” Brenda Lammi, Vice-President, Leadership and Professional Development at the CCHL.

“SEEC is a leader in health-care leadership development and training,” said Rami Mayer, executive director of the Schulich Executive Education Centre. “Our Masters Certificate program is a 10-month course of study designed to develop health-care leaders as agents of change. We are delighted to partner again with CCHL to make the CHE designation available to SEEC’s Masters Certificate in Healthcare Management graduates. SEEC now offers a total of six healthcare programs, which are eligible for advanced standing for the CHE designation, including SEEC’s Mini-MBAs, University Health Network and Humber River Hospital programs.”

This collaboration will also allow for both organizations to better address the constantly evolving needs of health leaders and align themselves with the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework. This framework is a foundation for Canadian health leadership development and defines the knowledge, skills and attitudes a leader must have to positively contribute to the Canadian health care system.
