Description:
Reporting to the Senior Operating Officer, University of Alberta Hospital, Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and Kaye Edmonton Clinic, the Executive Director (ED) functions within a dyad leadership model providing effective and inspiring strategic and operational leadership for site clinical teams and zone programs.

A builder of high-functioning teams with a focus on transformational change, you will champion engagement, collaboration and innovation, to create positive working relationships with site, zone, community, university and provincial partners to continually improve, transform and advance excellence in service delivery, quality, accessibility and sustainable person-centered care. You will be a team player bringing a strong and experienced voice to the Senior Leadership table holding responsibility and accountability for developing, implementing and evaluating strategic and operational site/zone plans, to achieve value-based business results, improving patient experience and outcomes while achieving organizational goals and strategic vision.

Additionally, you will provide leadership in the effective management and stewardship of financial, human and capital resources in a changing and multifaceted environment with diverse, complex and sensitive issues while promoting ongoing quality improvement and culture of safety for staff, physicians and patients.

Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate possesses a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare profession and a clinical background. A minimum of five (5) years’ successful progressive experience in an operational leadership role in a health care organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity is required

You have demonstrated your commitment to continuous quality improvement and learning, and excel at human and fiscal resource management. Your successful record of achievement as a leader includes your demonstrated collaborative leadership skills as per the LEADS in a caring environment framework including demonstrated excellence in leading self, engaging others, developing coalitions and achieving results.

Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree in health services administration, business administration, or evidence of working to completion of the same. Previous experience leading critical care/neurosciences programs/teams.
