A New Chapter for Health Leadership in Saskatchewan

September 22, 2026

The Canadian College of Health Leaders is pleased to announce the launch of the Saskatchewan Chapter, created through the merger of the former Assiniboia Chapter and Northern & Central Saskatchewan Chapter. The new chapter will serve members across the province through a unified approach to leadership engagement and professional development.

The merger, effective May 1, 2026, reflects Saskatchewan's evolution to a unified health system and the desire to strengthen leadership engagement across the province. Supported overwhelmingly by members of both chapters, the transition combines volunteer capacity, financial resources, and expertise to create new opportunities for connection, professional development, and collaboration among health leaders.

Throughout 2025 and 2026, chapter executives worked closely with members and the College's National Office to explore and implement the merger, including governance, membership, and operational transitions. The newly established Saskatchewan Chapter Executive will continue to serve until the next Annual General Meeting.

Incoming Saskatchewan Chapter Chair, Deanna-Marie Miller, CHE, shared their enthusiasm for the chapter's future:

"I am honoured and excited to serve as the inaugural Chapter Chair of the new Saskatchewan Chapter of the Canadian College of Health Leaders. I am especially grateful that our past Chapter Chairs, Tom Martin, CHE and Matt McGurk,CHE, will continue to hold active roles on the new Executive, sharing their experience, mentorship, and support as we navigate this exciting transition together. Saskatchewan is home to incredibly strong, courageous, and passionate leaders, and I look forward to working alongside our members to foster connection, mentorship, collaboration, and opportunities for growth. Together, we have an exciting opportunity to shape the future of health leadership in Saskatchewan."

The Saskatchewan Chapter looks forward to serving members across the province and building a strong, connected community of health leaders dedicated to advancing excellence in healthcare leadership.
