The Canadian College of Health Leaders is proud to announce that Robert G. Zed, CHE, FACHE, Chairman & CEO of Triangle Strategies, has been named recipient of the 2026 Mentorship Award.

He is being recognized for his extraordinary, sustained commitment to developing and inspiring healthcare leaders across Canada. For more than 25 years, Robert has embodied the true essence of mentorship: offering wisdom, honest guidance, and unwavering support to hundreds of emerging and established leaders. His influence spans organizations, academic institutions, and health systems, from his early work designing leadership development programs at Crothall to his long-standing service with the Canadian College of Health Leaders as Board Chair, Corporate Advisory Committee member, and champion of leadership growth within local chapters.
He has helped executives find clarity, balance, and purpose, creating safe, trusting spaces where individuals can reflect, grow, and lead with integrity. Robert’s mentorship legacy is perhaps most powerfully reflected in the ELEMENT Mentoring Program, which he founded as Executive‑in‑Residence at Dalhousie University’s School of Health Administration. Now entering its eighth year, the program has paired more than 100 students with senior healthcare executives nationwide, strengthening networks, confidence, and leadership capacity across the country.
Colleagues and mentees consistently describe Robert as a steady presence in moments of challenge—someone who listens deeply, asks the right questions, and invests in people for the long term. His mentorship is never transactional; it is rooted in genuine care, accountability, and a belief in what others can become. The ripple effect of his work is visible in the leaders he has shaped and the communities they now serve.
The Mentorship Award is presented to a leader in the healthcare system who demonstrates exemplary, sustained commitment to mentoring, and inspiring healthcare leadership.
This award is sponsored by Roche. Roche is committed to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the healthcare system in the diagnosis, treatment and management of acute and long-term disease in key therapeutic and diagnostic areas.
This award is part of our CCHL National Awards Program and will be presented at the Honouring Health Leadership event on June 14, 2026.
