Vancouver Island Chapter Presents
April 10, 2015
To get the most out of our health care system, Alberta Health Services (AHS) has created networks of people who are passionate and knowledgeable about specific areas of health, challenging them to find new and innovative ways of delivering care to provide better quality, better outcomes and better value for every Albertan. Strategic Clinical Networks (SCN) are planning ahead and mapping out what patients need.
Join Ms. Vickie Kaminski, the President and CEO of AHS for a thought provoking presentation that will outline how she is reshaping health care in Alberta by: 1. Focusing on what patients need; 2. Supporting local examples of excellent care and then sharing these ideas across the province; and 3. Using evidence to guide care decisions.Ms. Kaminski was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Alberta Health Services on May 26, 2014. Prior to her role with AHS, she held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer at the Eastern Regional Health Authority in Newfoundland and Labrador, the province’s largest health authority. Ms. Kaminski has more than 35 years of senior health care executive experience, including senior executive positons in Ontario. Ms Kaminski is a member of the Canadian Institute for Health Information Strategic Analytic Committee, is a member of the transitional board for HealthCareCAN, and a member of the board of directors for the Canadian Patient Safety Institute. She also serves as a surveyor for both the Canadian and international markets with Accreditation Canada.
