The NEON Lights Chapter will be hosting its in-person/ webinar AGM on May 13th, 2015. This year, the AGM will feature a presentation by Gisèle Guénard, Principal of VisionarEase & associates, who will speak about effective Governance-Operations relationships and how they have a significant impact on client outcomes and organizational culture. This discussion will address how a positive and realistic approach to this key “energy dynamic” can change the discussion at your Board Team table, while enhancing retention, and succession planning, which will in turn cause the work to become so much more satisfying and meetings more enjoyable. GISÈLE GUÉNARD, RN BScN, MEd, Principal, VisionarEase & Associates

Gisèle provides education, corporate facilitation and support to governance and executive leadership teams through VisionarEase Inc. & associates. The company specializes in Positive Change Leadership and Consulting. Services include Client Centered Governance®1 board and staff education, retreats, policy development, group facilitation, strategic planning, executive support and special projects.

Clients include the business sector, primary health care, hospital, fundraising, mental health, addictions, the community support sector, child care, women’s services, child and youth sector, government agencies, national associations and provincial RHAs (Regional Health Authorities), in English and en français.

Gisèle has served in leadership consulting and the health sector for over 30 years. She has held a variety of positions from bedside and community patient care to hospital CEO, where she led expansion, integration and the launch of one of Ontario's first Family Health Teams and a new long-term care facility. She has served in Public Health, as Administrator in Long Term Care and as nursing professor, college sector.

Her governance experience includes Board Director, North East Local Health Integration Network (NE LHIN). She is currently Vice Chair of the Sudbury District Nurse Practitioner Clinics Board of Directors. She is a Peer Facilitator for the Canadian Patient Safety Institute – Quality Governance initiatives, and has helped educate numerous boards in this role in Ontario and on the East Coast. As well, she has performed governance course review functions for the Canadian Healthcare Association (now HealthCAN). She is a past member of the Ontario Hospital Association’s Small Rural & Northern Leadership Council, and has presented at OHA and OACCAC conferences, AGMs, Women’s Seminars and other events.

Fluent in French and in English, Gisèle is the recipient of the YWCA Women of Distinction Award, and nominee for the Influential Women of Northern Ontario Awards.

Author of “HELP… Healthy Thinking in Times of Trouble”, and educated in Ontario, she holds a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) degree from Laurentian University, as well as a Master in Education (Sociology) degree from the University of Toronto.
