Demystifying Government Decision-Making

Thursday, May 21, 2015
1200 - 1300 CST
University of Saskatchewan
Health Sciences Building - Room E1150

Guest Speaker: Dan Florizone, SHR President and CEO

This one hour interactive session will introduce participants to the   policy vehicles, structures and processes governments use in decision-making and direction-setting.  Dan Florizone, former Deputy Minister of Health, Assistant Deputy Minister of Health, Deputy Minister of Education and Deputy Minister responsible for the Lean Initiative will provide an overview and insight into the decision and direction setting processes at the provincial and pan-Canadian levels.  To use a metaphor - while everyone knows what sausage is, and many know what it tastes like – only a few know how it is made.  Participants will be given a crash course in the reality of how government works and correct common misconceptions that can sometimes frustrate health system leaders.

Presentation - Open to College Members & All Interested
