Learn about Fraser Health’s experience in a recent ‘go-live’ with e-documentation for nursing and allied professionals at Abbotsford Regional Hospital. The Regional tertiary care site went ‘live’ with this new system on November 1st, 2016; the project was clinically led and incorporated a robust transformation strategy utilizing change methodology.

Learning Objectives:

  • Get an overview of the Chief Clinical Information Officer role for Fraser Health and the importance of this role in the current climate of healthcare.
  • Learn about the work underway in Fraser Health to achieve a paperless system (in lay language with no acronyms). 
  • Receive an overview of the project with insight to the successes, challenges and solutions experienced. 
  • Learn about the change methodology used for the project and future goals.

Featured Speaker: Megan Stowe, RN BN MScN,Chief Clinical Information Officer for Fraser Health Authority

Megan Stowe, RN BN MScN is the Chief Clinical Information Officer for Fraser Health Authority. She’s also held clinical leadership roles as Director of Royal Columbian Redevelopment and Provincial Director of Clinical Operations for Pain and Symptom Management and Palliative Care as well as Survivorship at BC Cancer Agency.

Originally from Calgary, Megan has spent the majority of her career in London, UK, working within the acute care sector and service improvement. Her master’s degree is a Master’s of Science in Nursing Leadership in Healthcare from the University of London, King’s College, UK. Megan’s particular professional interests focus on leadership, clinical transformation, technology enablement and strategic planning.

Megan is also an active community member, sitting on the Board of Directors for a nonprofit child development society, leading community engagement and supporting fundraising. Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and two children either travelling or exploring the local area.

Attendance at this program entitles certified Canadian College of Health Leaders members (CHE / Fellow) to 1.00 Category I  credits toward their maintenance of certification requirement.

  Due to catering commitments, cancellations will be billed the full amount if not received before November 21, 2016 . As this event is expected to be well attended – plan to register early.
