Joe is highly respected for his very accomplished and distinguished career as a professional hospital CEO and expert consultant. He brings a wealth of knowledge and unique experience in international healthcare. Joe led several hospital corporations as the CEO. Most recently he was the CEO of Guam Memorial Hospital Authority on the island of Guam in the South Pacific where he was responsible for the accreditation of the hospital for the first time in its history. He was also responsible for transforming and improving the entire hospital and healthcare delivery system on the island. He was an expert consultant for Joint Commission International in the USA for over 17 years. As an expert in international accreditation he consulted at and successfully helped hospitals and organizations become accredited in many countries throughout the world.
Joe was the President and CEO of Canadian Medical Placement Services an international physician and executive recruitment firm based in here in London Ontario for over 12 years.
Joe's expertise and experience includes international and domestic accreditation, governance, leadership, medical staff, environment of care, patient safety, emergency management, performance and systems improvement. He was the treasurer of the CCHL SWO Chapter for 11 years and is largely responsible for the very positive financial condition of the Chapter,. He was responsible for the development and implementation of our highly successful corporate partnership program. He served as Chair of the SWO Chapter for 2 years. He served on the executive committee of the CCHL SWO Chapter and many subcommittees over the years. He also was a member of the ACHE Regents advisory council for many years. He was honoured by his SWO Chapter colleagues and received a lifetime achievement award in 2014. He is a certified healthcare executive (CHE) in both the CCHL and ACHE and is a Fellow of the ACHE. He is and always has been an ardent supporter of the CCHL and ACHE.
