On May 10th, 2018, join the CCHL study tour at Indwell where you will be inspired by leaders that are making a difference in the health of populations in the community setting. Indwell is a non-profit organization that provides supportive housing options for vulnerable adults living with mental illness and other disabilities. They currently have 410 active housing units serving 440 people in Hamilton, Woodstock and Simcoe. The organization has experienced rapid growth in recent years and is looking to its new strategic plan to continue growing while raising the bar on performance. This study tour will examine Indwell’s success, which in large part has been the result of effective partnership building, cross-sector collaboration and service integration with primary care providers, hospitals, etc. Participants will learn about the capacity of non-profit organizations and charities to effect system change, identify practical strategies for effective partnerships and build their understanding about the importance of organizational culture during times of rapid growth. Through presentation, an interactive tour of Indwell’s integrated health funded programs and dialogue with senior Indwell leaders, study tour participants will uncover ways in which Indwell’s successes and learnings could be adopted/adapted elsewhere for even broader system change.

[Notes: Optional transportation to/from Strathearne provided by Indwell. The study tour will be preceded by an optional participant meet up over breakfast/coffee at Rankins Grill nearby at 1342 Main St. E., Hamilton].
