Sunnybrook Study Tour
The Cancer Ablation Therapy Program: the CAT Program harnesses a range of precision therapies to destroy tumours without the need for invasive surgery. Sunnybrook has acquired three game-changing technologies — Gamma Knife Icon, MR-Linac and a new MR-Brachytherapy Suite. This trio of first-in-Canada technologies will change they way tumours are targeted.
7D Navigation System: This made-in-Toronto light-based technology maps the brain and spine in 3-D to give surgeons a view of hard-to-see areas with a high degree of accuracy. Using the surgical navigation system, surgeons can see the position of their instruments, obstructions and surgical materials with incredible accuracy, which facilitates delicate surgical maneuvers. That precision, in turn, reduces the likelihood of patients requiring surgical revisions.
