The Vancouver Island (VI) Chapter invites its members to attend a journal club event on Tuesday May 29, 2018. The VI CCHL Journal Club brings together CCHL members, all of whom are at varying stages in their careers, to discuss thought provoking articles on leadership. For each session, we will distribute an article to registered participants beforehand and gather in an informal yet engaging setting to provide an opportunity for networking followed by a thoughtful discussion on the chosen article.

For this event, we will be discussing Martin Reeves's article on "How to Regain the Lost Art of Reflection" from Harvard Business Review. The article discusses the importance for leaders to schedule in time for reflection in order to reclaim their time, deploy their fully cognitive powers to the increasingly complex challenges they face and, by inspiring the same behaviour in others, liberate employees from the corrosive effects of information overload and incessant reactivity.

The link to the article can be found here: https://hbr.org/2017/09/how-to-regain-the-lost-art-of-reflection

Please note that this is the second journal club event for 2017/2018, and Six Mile Pub, was the chosen location to better suit our CCHL members who work at, or close to, Victoria General Hospital (VGH).

This Members only event is free; however please register early as space is limited.

It is expected that each participant will purchase their own food/drink at the meeting location.
