The Canadian College of Health Leaders – Northern Alberta Chapter is pleased to host an evening event featuring a guest speaker panel. As space is limited please get your registration in early and join us for this thought provoking presentation and networking event.

In Canada, the incidence of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) in the general population is high at 8% and in first responders, nurses, active military and veterans, is greater than twice this frequency. PTSD is a debilitating disorder that may develop not only in persons directly exposed to trauma but also by those giving care to trauma victims.

During this evening session, we will hear from colleagues who have personally experienced PTSD and/or cared for persons with PTSD, within their family or work. Our speakers will be from healthcare, first-responders, and the military. We will encourage open discussion on personal experiences in a safe environment to provide perspective on the challenges faced by individuals dealing with PTSD and also address the care and proactive measures that may be taken to protect against developing PTSD.
