The Vancouver Island (VI) Chapter invites its members to attend a journal club event on Tuesday June 4th, 2019. The VI CCHL Journal Club brings together CCHL members and non-members, all of whom are at varying stages in their careers, to discuss thought provoking articles on leadership. For each session, we will distribute and article to registered participants beforehand and gather in an informal yet engaging setting to provide an opportunity for networking followed by thoughtful discussion on the chosen article.

For this event, we will be discussing Harvey Schachter’s article on “How to be a rebel, but not a troublemaker, at work.” The article discusses the difference between rebels and troublemakers and how employees who feel compelled to lead change within their organization can do so in practical and efficient ways. During our discussion, we will talk about the strategies discussed in this article and how leaders can support and foster employees to be ‘good rebels’.

The link to the article can be found here: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/careers/how-to-be-a-rebel-but-not-a-troublemaker-at-work/article34072341/

This event is free for members and $10 for non-members. Please register early as space is limited.
A light platter of snacks will be purchased by the Vancouver Island Chapter; however, it is expected that participants purchase their own drink.

Attendance at this program entitles certified Canadian College of Health Leaders members (CHE / Fellow) to 1.50 Category I  credits toward their maintenance of certification requirement.
