Community Care Northumberland

Chief Executive Officer

Lead an organization with a mission to connect residents in the communities served with the support, service and care they need throughout their lifelong journey.

Established in 1988, Community Care Northumberland (CCN) is a not-for-profit organization that provides nutrition, transportation, wellness, in-home and hospice services to residents of Northumberland County. Community Care Northumberland strives to be the best multi-service, not for profit, volunteer driven community support agency in Northumberland County, through connecting residents in the communities served with the support, service and care they need throughout their lifelong journey. Led by a dynamic volunteer Board of Directors, CCN prides itself on delivering the best possible care and excellent client services through a dedicated team of qualified staff and volunteers who provide a variety of important support programs to seniors, adults with disabilities, those recovering from illness or injury, and hospice clients, and their caregivers and loved ones. CCN is also proud to work in partnership with other health and social service providers and community agencies in Northumberland County and the municipalities of Cobourg, Port Hope, Trent Hills, Brighton, Hamilton, Alnwick/Haldimand, and Cramahe.

Following the decision of the current Chief Executive Officer to retire after a successful tenure of thirty-six years, the Board is looking for a leader to provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the organization, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to the community. Strong communication, relationship-building, orientation to fundraising and problem-solving skills are essential, as is a commitment to equity, inclusivity, and the well-being of underserved communities. Leveraging relationships and networks with external stakeholders and funders, the CEO, in partnership with the Board, will advocate for the organization and those it serves, advancing the delivery of integrated, high-quality, home and hospice care.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare leadership, a deep understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable sectors, and a proven track record of successfully navigating complex relationships with funders and community partners. Strong strategic planning, financial management, and advocacy skills are critical. The CEO will hold a graduate degree, ideally at the master’s level, in health administration, health sciences, business administration, or another relevant field. As a visionary organizational leader and strategic community partner the CEO will promote a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement while demonstrating an understanding of working in a culturally diverse and changing community environment. Together with the Board, the CEO will set the organizational tone, embodying its values and culture, while modelling behaviors that inspire employees to achieve their best in advancing CCNs’ strategic goals. The CEO will also work to support the development of Ontario Health Teams and maintain a positive relationship with Ontario Health.
