Dr. Robert Halpenny
Dr. Robert Halpenny has extensive experience in healthcare through his roles as a clinician, administrator, and in governance. Presently, he is Chair of the Interior Health Board of Directors and Chair of the Medical Services Commission. He started his career as a Family Physician and after completing a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Colorado he spent six years as VP Medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. Upon returning to Canada, he was the VP Medicine at the Fraser Health Authority and then Provincial Executive Director Cardiac Services for the Provincial Health Services Authority. He moved to Kelowna as VP Medicine and then became CEO of Interior Health, retiring from that position in 2015.
