Lorie-Anne Danielson
Lorie-Anne Danielson has been a nurse for 37 years, with 23 of those years dedicated to leading healthcare operations. Her depth of experience, coupled with a rich and diverse clinical background, has shaped a unique perspective on health leadership and system transformation.
Lorie-Anne’s clinical foundation spans GI, trauma, surgery, adolescent medicine, adult medicine, and long-term care. Her leadership journey began unexpectedly after being injured by a distraught patient and unable to return to front-line nursing. That turning point opened a new and unexpected path in her career. She accepted a role as Manager of the Rh Plasma Centre in Winnipeg, where she successfully led FDA and HPB certification processes and the opening of Canada’s first stand-alone Plasmapheresis Centre.
This experience ignited a passion for leadership that would span a broad range of transformative and operational roles, including:
- Director of Care
- Director of Patient Safety
- Compliance Advisor with the Ontario Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care
- Manager of Quality and Risk
- Manager of Clinical Education
- Health Centre Administrator
- National Manager for the Centre of Excellence for Children and Adolescents with Special Needs
- Accreditation Lead
- Director of Quality, Risk and Client Experience
- Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Yellowknife Region
- And currently, COO for Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife
Lorie-Anne proudly holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Administrative Studies and a Master of Arts in Leadership (Health Care) from Royal Roads University. She is a Certified Health Executive (CHE) with the Canadian College of Health Leaders and is an active champion of the LEADS in a Caring Environment Framework. Lorie-Anne uses the framework as a cornerstone of her leadership practice and a guiding tool for team and system development.
Across her career, Lorie-Anne has cultivated a cohesive and grounded understanding of health care operations, and is deeply committed to quality, safety, innovation, and client-centered care. Her work reflects a dedication to growing others, advancing high-performing teams, and transforming health systems with compassion, integrity, and vision.
