As Canada's population becomes increasingly diverse, healthcare professionals must adapt to meet the unique needs of all individuals, particularly those in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Trans and gender-diverse patients often encounter barriers to care, including misgendering and a lack of respect for their identities, leading to feelings of marginalization and mistrust. This presentation will explore the critical role healthcare professionals play in creating a safe and affirming environment for 2SLGBTQIA+ patients. Participants will gain valuable insights into the experiences of these communities, practical strategies to deliver inclusive care, and actionable steps to become effective allies in fostering trust, respect, and equity in healthcare settings.
