Please join the BC Chapters for an interactive discussion on the importance of vaccines led by Dr. Jia Hu, a public health physician. Learn about gaps in immunization uptake, particularly among adults. We will discuss the challenges in adult immunization with respect to funding, access, and awareness. What is the impact on our health care system? How can health leaders prepare and mitigate the impacts?

Dr. Jia Hu
Jia Hu is a public health and preventive medicine specialist and family physician. He co-founded 19 To Zero, a not-for-profit focused on increasing public health interventions like vaccination and cancer screening and co-chairs the Adult Vaccine Alliance, a group focused on increasing uptake of adult vaccines. He recently moved to British Columbia where he is a medical lead within the Population and Public Health Division at the BCCDC.
Dr. Hu obtained his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Harvard University, before going on to obtain his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alberta. He completed his residency at the University of Toronto and St. Mike’s Hospital. Dr. Hu has a MSc in Health Policy, Planning and Finance from the London School of Economics and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Hu completed training in public health and preventive medicine at the University of Toronto.
