Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic, and with reporting lines to the President and Vice-Chancellor, the Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Vice-President, Health will provide strategic and academic leadership across the Faculty and the University, driving excellence in education, research, and clinical service. The Dean and VP will foster a collaborative environment, ensuring that UBC and the Faculty of Medicine continue to enhance its reputation for innovation, interdisciplinary research, and commitment to improving the health of individuals and communities locally, nationally, and globally.
The ideal candidate will have an inspiring and ambitious outlook for the Faculty of Medicine and UBC Health portfolios, with a cross-disciplinary vision and commitment to working collaboratively across the University and the Province to advance institutional goals and societal needs. The new Dean will bring an outstanding record of strategic academic administrative leadership in a significant, senior role within a top-ranked, research-intensive university. The candidate will have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent and/or a PhD in a related field along with a distinguished record as an administrator, educator, and researcher eligible for a full professorship at UBC.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the position has an expected base salary range of $500,000 – $725,000.
