Philanthropy is a critical source of funding for SickKids, one of the world’s largest and most respected child health-care centres, treating more than 100,000 patients a year while driving research advances and providing training to the next generation of health-care leaders. Established in 1972, SickKids Foundation (The Foundation) raises funds on behalf of SickKids in Toronto and is the largest charitable funder of child health research, learning and care in Canada.  The Foundation’s vision is simple, yet ambitious:  Healthier Children. A Better World.  Last year, the Foundation officially concluded the SickKids VS Limits Campaign, raising a record $1.7 billion, surpassing the goal of $1.5 billion.

The Foundation is now embarking on a bold and new ambitious Comprehensive Campaign to bring to life the vision of Precision Child Health (PCH), a multi-year transformation of medical care from a one-size-fits-all-approach to individualized, targeted care that ensures no child is left behind. The Campaign will be unprecedented in the history of Canadian philanthropy and will usher in the next generation of paediatric care, in Toronto and globally. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Vice President, Campaign is a key member of the Development Team and the Senior Management Team and is fully responsible for all aspects of this new and historic Campaign. Contributing to the organization’s strategies, plans and successes for years to come, the Vice President, Campaign ensures all fundraising activities are aligned with the Campaign strategy and supporting the key strategic philanthropic priorities of SickKids.

The Vice President, Campaign will serve as the external face and champion for the Campaign, while managing a small portfolio of prospects and donors with a focus on $5M+ gifts. In addition to overseeing the management of the Campaign Cabinet, the Vice President, Campaign will support key volunteers and work closely with SickKids leadership with a focus on expanding and diversifying the Foundation’s donor base and donation pipeline globally.

This is a rare opportunity for an exceptional leader to be part of an unprecedent initiative that will define philanthropy and change the paediatric healthcare landscape for years to come. As the ideal candidate, you bring progressive leadership experience in senior fundraising roles, ideally within healthcare, education, or another similarly complex setting. With a proven track record securing gifts of $5 million+ from individual and corporate donors, you possess deep expertise in all aspects of fundraising, including pipeline development, cultivation and solicitation of gifts at the seven-figure level and above.  Demonstrated experience overseeing the planning and execution of a comprehensive fundraising campaign and in building, inspiring and retaining a “best in class” high performing team will be critical to success. A growth mindset, excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence to build strong relationships and trust within the Foundation, SickKids, donors, volunteers and external partners plus demonstrated leadership in equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), will complete your skill set.

Total Compensation Package

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $207,060-$245,635; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $282,170. To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills and qualifications relevant to the Vice President, Campaign position. This position is also eligible for an annual incentive.

To help you lead in the fight for kid’s health and to support your health, wellness, and career growth, in addition to a competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefit package (includes a flex benefit plan), tuition reimbursement, flexible work arrangements, pension plan, and birth parent/parental top up – to name a few!
