The Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (VP & CFO) is a member of the Hospital’s Senior Leadership Team and is an active participant in the development, implementation and monitoring of the Hospital’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.  The VP & CFO will work closely with colleagues, services and programs to champion a culture of continuous improvement and visible performance.

This position is accountable for the development and management of corporate programs and services in the hospital and for providing leadership and direction to the Senior Leadership team and the Board of Governors regarding fiscal policies, practices and programs.  The VP & CFO will also assume accountability for a support/clinical support portfolio and is responsible for ensuring that service delivery strategies align with the corporate mission and operating plan priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Exercises broad administrative responsibilities to provide direction and coordination of corporate and financial services and assigned support/clinical support services
  • Assumes responsibility for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls, which provides assurance that operations are effective and efficient, and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ensures corporate and financial services are aligned with and in support of BGH’s mission, vision, and strategic plan
  • Ensures that quality assurance systems are in place across the corporation for the delivery of the highest standards of financial management and control; oversees the budgeting and audit processes and ensures that financial statements are prepared in accordance with all applicable standards and requirements
  • In partnership with others, assumes responsibility for leading change through innovation and best practices
  • Initiates, develops, and maintains cooperative relationships with community and regional partners, applicable government ministries, Ontario Health East staff and is responsible for closely monitoring compliance with provincial and federal financial regulatory requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

In this role, you provide oversight and direction to all aspects of the portfolio, including: Finance, corporate services, and assigned support/clinical support services.

Your degree in Commerce, Administration, or a related field (Masters of Business Administration preferred) and professional accounting designation (CPA) is complimented by 5 to 7 years of progressive senior management experience overseeing finance and administrative services in the Ontario hospital sector.
