Vice President, Seniors Care, Clinical and Operations

Providence Health Care and Providence Living seek to redefine the collective expectation of seniors’ care, replacing “care homes” with genuine communities. The VP Seniors Care, Clinical and Operations will work with Providence Health Care, and the newly-established Providence Living to create a focus on radically improving both the environment and experience of British Columbians living in care settings. The role looks for an individual who will create space for the individuality, joy and spontaneity that makes life rich and fulfilling for our seniors. Working with the care team at both Providence Health Care and Providence Living, this person will help lead the designing of physical spaces that will make resident-directed care a safe expectation for all, including those with memory issues. At its heart, our people believe that every individual has a back story — a rich history filled with unique experiences and achievements. And that uncovering and honouring these stories creates the opportunity to co-create a full and meaningful life.

Vice President, Seniors Care, Clinical and Operations

Reporting jointly to the President & Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Providence Health Care and Providence Living, and as a key member of the respective Senior Leadership Teams (SLTs), the Vice President, Seniors Care, Clinical and Operations is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the PHC/Providence Living seniors care, assisted living and housing services including delivery of care, regulatory reporting, quality standards, service excellence, people leadership, asset and financial management

The Vice President (VP) brings a demonstrated passion for working with seniors, families and health care providers to provide a safe and healthy care and living environment for our residents. The VP works collaboratively with PHC/Providence Living senior leaders to position the organization as a leader and innovator in care delivery within this sector. The VP is highly influential in creating a dedicated, person-centered culture of care delivery, employee engagement and operational excellence that consistently achieves positive care experiences for our residents and their families consistent with our Mission, Vision and Values.

The VP is also instrumental in leading the organizations’ transformation and growth strategy for seniors’ care and other assigned services including the management of significant and complex partnerships, redevelopment projects and change initiatives. The VP represents the organizations’ with respect to these initiatives and the portfolio with government, health authority, regulatory, and private sector representatives and agencies.

The Certified Health Executive (CHE) Program is the only leadership designation in Canada for health leaders. The CHE is aligned to the LEADS Domains which supports self-directed, life-long learning.

CHE Select intensifies the College’s role in supporting leaders in Canadian health system to define and understand their leadership and the role they play in leading systems change, it includes individual development and will also support organizational culture and systems change.
