The Opportunity

The Director of Operations is a key representative, promoting a positive image of the organization and facilitating collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Director of Operations is responsible for leading and mentoring a skilled team of leaders and for fostering a positive and just work culture that supports the growth of both the organization and its employees in alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Values (MVV) of the Good Samaritan.

The Director of Operations provides leadership and operational accountability for a range of programs and services which include assisted living, private pay, independent living/life lease, long term care, and dementia care, in nine (9) Good Samaritan care homes located throughout interior and coastal British Columbia.

As a member of the Leadership Team, the Director of Operations is responsible for the development and attainment of operational goals that align with the organization’s MVV, strategic plan, budgetary parameters, and for the assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of operational risk.

Requirements for this Opportunity:
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in business administration, health care administration or related field is required;
  • A master’s degree in a health or business administration related field is preferred;
  • Active registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) is preferred;
  • Ten (10) years of operational and administration experience in large and complex healthcare organizations, with continued growth in responsibilities and increased complexity of roles, with the last five (5) years in a senior management level position; and
  • A minimum five (5) years leadership experience related to health care, preferably in continuing care.

Ce programme intensifie le rôle du Collège qui consiste à aider les leaders dans le système de santé canadien à définir et à comprendre leur style de leadership et le rôle qu’ils jouent dans la gestion du changement du système.
