On Wednesday May 29, the Canadian College Hamilton & Area Chapter is inviting you to an evening of reconnection and conversation. In addition to our Annual General Meeting (AGM), our evening discussion will focus on the important topic of physician recruitment. We hope you will join us for a panel discussion about what can and is being done to address the unprecedented shortage of physicians in the Ontario from recruitment, retention, strategy, policy, and practical perspectives.

Gloria Jordan, CHE - CEO, Hamilton Family Health Team

Gloria is a leader, coach, and mentor who aims to live with bravery, conviction and belief in the human spirit, people and communities.

Gloria has served as the CEO of the Hamilton Family Health Team for the past year.  The organization partners with over 165 physicians across Hamilton with over 260 staff ranging from nurses, pharmacists, psychiatrists, registered dieticians, mental health counsellors, community outreach workers, health informatic specialists and the many supports that allow for team based primary healthcare to be possible.

The organization serves nearly half of the population with a vision of a Healthier Hamilton, is building partnership in the community to address some of the most pressing health and social challenges seen in decades.

Gloria also serves as an Executive and Leadership Coach and Consultant with a part time business, whose aim is to inspire people and communities to live and lead courageously. The business launched in 2017 and she has coached and mentored senior based leaders committed to embrace their full power and potential to lead fully aligned to their purpose. When leaders are clear on their purpose and aligned to this purpose they live with clarity and lead with a lightness of heart.

Gloria started her career as a critical care nurse with a passion to serve others.  Early in her career she moved into leadership positions within hospital settings in organizational development, quality, risk management and patient relations, strategic and operational planning.  Gloria served as a health care executive and management consultant with Deloitte and Touché and worked at the Ontario Medical Association inspiring physicians’ to effectively influence health care decision makers to make necessary health system changes to meet patient needs.  Gloria was an executive team member of the Waterloo Wellington Community Care Access Centre and most recently at the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network as Senior Director for Health System Integration and Executive Primary Health Care Lead.  Gloria, along with 6 community agencies within waterloo region founded the Inner-City Health Alliance – a collaboration dedicated to build community capacity and respond rapidly and effectively to the needs of those who are resilient, living in vulnerable conditions in the community.

Gloria is passionate about helping build capacity in communities underserved.  She has worked in developing countries, working with a non-Government agency in Sierra Leone, Africa to build and sustain a skill trade centres and solar power generation.  Gloria is committed to support people locally living in vulnerable conditions. There is a resiliency and wisdom we can learn from each other.

She has a Bachelor of science in nursing, a Masters of Health Administration and is a Certified Health Care Executive.
