CCHL awards Fellowships to James Chan, FCCHL, and Dan Levitt, FCCHL

On behalf of the Canadian College of Health Leaders and its Board of Directors, we would like to congratulate James Chan, FCCHL, and Dan Levitt, FCCHL on attaining Fellowship status in the College.

The Fellowship is the highest professional designation awarded by the College and recognizes members who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, who have had an impact on the Canadian health system through their leadership and engagement, and who are motivated to continue to influence future leaders through their involvement in the Fellows Program and the CCHL.

Dr. James Chan, FCCHL, is the Director of Innovation at Sault Area Hospital. He is a seasoned healthcare leader with two decades of experience across sectors, holds a strong academic background and expertise in program planning, operational improvement, and service redesign. In addition to serving as a hospital Director in Ontario, he holds positions as sessional faculty at McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business and lecturer in Health Quality Programs at Queens University.

Dan Levitt, FCCHL serves as BC’s Seniors Advocate and is the former Chief Executive Officer at Kin Village. He is an acclaimed international speaker, elder care leader, and gerontologist, who specializes in improving seniors’ lives globally. In his previous role as CEO of Kin Village he enhanced housing, care, and community programs, while contributing to global initiatives on senior care and quality of life through his involvement in boards like CommonAge and the International Federation on Ageing.

The College officially launched a redesigned Fellowship program in June of 2021 called the Fellowship Select Program. The process of going through the Fellowship Select Program is one that includes a rigorous peer-review component.
