In healthcare, data can be a powerful resource - but its full potential is often underutilized. Too often, population health data, system-level data, and peer-reviewed evidence are difficult to access because of complex processes, unclear governance, and technology issues. Any analytics efforts that do get off the ground are used retroactively to validate decisions already made, rather than proactively informing strategic choices from the outset. This approach can limit the ability to anticipate needs, adapt to emerging challenges, and fully optimize patient outcomes.
