Dr. Gaurav Mehta
Dr. Gaurav Mehta is a community based Consultant Addiction Psychiatrist. He works as the Deputy Chief & Medical Director Psychiatry at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Ontario. He has a keen interest in Legal Medicine, Addiction Medicine, ECT and Diabetes. He is also the Clinical Director for Assertive Community Treatment Team and the Clinical Lead for ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy). He holds an appointment as Assistant Professor in Psychiatry, University of Toronto. Dr Mehta also has Certifications in the following areas; Addiction Medicine, Obesity, ECT, r-TMS, Crisis Negation and its Application to Mental Disorders, Understanding Stalking and Domestic Violence and Enhancing Skills in Clinical Case Formulation. He has presented orally and posters and moderated at various international, national and local platforms. He has acted as a peer reviewer in reputed international peer reviewed journals. Dr. Mehta is co-author of Diabetes Canada Guidelines 2023- chapter on mental health. He has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals as well as a chapter in International Textbook of Diabetes. He was the co -chair SIG Diabetes Canada Mental Health and founder of Diabetes Mental Health Clinic. He is the advisor for the Mental Health + Diabetes Training Program, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada. He is co –author of The ASAM Criteria: Treatment Criteria for Addictive, Substance-Related, and Co-Occurring Conditions 4th edition outpatients.
