Join us for an inspiring and insightful panel discussion featuring three healthcare leaders as they share their personal career journeys, challenges and successes. This event will explore the evolving landscape of healthcare leadership and provide valuable perspectives on navigating career advancement with purpose.

This interactive event will be moderated by Phoebe Smith-Chen, Co-Chair of the CCHL GTA Chapter – with panelists Adil Khalfan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Kensington Health; Carrie Fletcher, Executive Vice President People, Culture and Strategy at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and Hayley Becker, Partner and Co-Founder of Mirams Becker Inc. We will allow plenty of time for an audience Q&A with the speakers.

Whether you’re an aspiring leader, a seasoned professional, or simply curious about the panelists’ paths, this conversation will provide practical advice and inspiration.

Adil Khalfan
- President and Chief Executive Officer of Kensington Health

Adil has an extensive background in nursing, public health, international development, and health system strategy, both in Canada and internationally. Prior to joining Kensington Health, Adil served as Ontario Health’s Senior Vice President, Health System Performance and Support, where he oversaw provincial strategies, funding, accountability agreements, standards, and various other initiatives. He has also served as the founding CEO of Royale Home Health, of Royale Hayat Hospital in Kuwait, and as Middle East Executive Regional Director and Operational Lead for University Health.  Adil is an active board governor, currently Chair of Mid-West Toronto OHT, Board Member of OLTCA and Board Member of St. Mildred’s-Lightboun School for Girls. 


Carrie Fletcher
- Executive Vice President People, Culture and Strategy at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton

Over 25 years of diverse clinical, business and people transformation success in healthcare. A proven track record in leadership, coaching, strategic planning and goal setting, and project planning and implementation. Ability to drive organizational performance by building, innovating and leading operations in unionized and complex environments with multiple stakeholders and partner organizations. Demonstrated credibility to engage people at all levels and influence change. Authentic leader who builds meaningful and trusting relationships.


Hayley Becker
– Partner and Co-Founder of Mirams Becker Inc, specialists in healthcare executive search 

Hayley has 20 years of experience in recruitment and selection, partnering with healthcare clients from across Canada to recruit top talent.  Clients include regional health authorities, provincial governments, academic health science centres, community hospitals and health related associations, charities and foundations.  Hayley invests in her clients, building strong relationships and partnerships to truly understand their needs, and is recognized for her genuine and engaging style. 


Moderator – Phoebe Smith-Chen
, Co-Chair, CCHL GTA Chapter Executive and Interim Director, Primary Care at Ontario Health

Phoebe Smith-Chen has 20 years of experience in the healthcare sector, including clinical and leadership roles. She was a speech-language pathologist for over 10 years, working in community, rehabilitation, acute care and palliative care settings. Phoebe also spent several years in patient experience-related roles including the Ontario Hospital Association and Ontario Health. She is the Co-Chair of the Canadian College of Health Leaders GTA Chapter Executive and Co-Chair of the national Chapter Advisory Council. Healthcare has been an excellent match for Phoebe’s career-long goal of “meaningful work with great people”.
