Healthcare leaders have a critical role in fostering environments where equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism are not just values, but fundamental principles woven into every fabric of a healthcare organization. This session will go over the knowledge and tools to effectively embed EDI and anti-racism into your leadership practices using the LEADS framework. Integration of EDI and anti-racism in healthcare leadership practices will empower the leaders to create inclusive environments, dismantle systemic barriers, and champion allyship. Throughout this session, we will delve into practical strategies, share best practices, and engage in meaningful discussions to enhance the overall understanding and application of EDI and anti-racism within the LEADS framework.

Suchita Bali, Manager of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism at Health Sciences North (HSN)

Suchita Bali stepped into the role of Manager of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism at Health Sciences North (HSN) in June 2023. She is passionate about advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism as a strategic priority and brings both personal and professional experiences to this role. She holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Commerce from Laurentian University. She brings a wealth of corporate knowledge, strategic mindset, and leadership skills to this role. With a commitment to creating inclusive environments and dismantling systemic barriers, she continues to champion diversity and equity in all facets of her work. In her role, she has made strides by establishing HSN's first-ever Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Anti-Racism (IDEAA) committee to embark on various systemic EDI initiatives, including cultural safety and diversity training and education, and policy work. Suchita started her career at HSN as a Web and Social Media Specialist with the Corporate Communications department in 2017. During her five-year tenure, she oversaw the management of HSN's intranet portal, corporate website, and social media channels. In early 2022, Suchita transitioned to a new role as a Project Manager for Electronic Medical Record (EMR) at the Digital Health Project Management Office.
