Networking is an important skill to develop over the course of your career, and what better way to do it than in a fun, low stakes environment in a format similar to that made popular by speed dating?!
On Thursday May 9, from 5:00 – 7:00pm the CCHL Vancouver Island Chapter will be hosting a Speed Networking Event at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. This event will be open to healthcare leaders in all stages of their careers, with the purpose to promote and facilitate networking with individuals from various healthcare streams and inspire avenues for career growth and peer to peer learning.
This event will consist of two parts. First, we will have a moderated panel discussion where 3 leaders will discuss networking, examine questions relating to the ‘what’s’, ‘why’s’, and ‘how’s’ of networking, and provide some practical suggestions as to how emerging health leaders can grow their networks. Following the panel discussion, the theory behind networking will be put into practice with a networking activity where attendees will have the opportunity to engage in one on one interactions in a speed networking format. Participants will sit across from each other. Each pair is given two minutes each to tell their story of ‘what matters to them’ with an additional 1 minute for questions. At the end of the 5 minutes a bell will ring, and participants will rotate, meeting a new person on each rotation of the speed networking circuit.
Participants are encouraged to bring their business cards and links to their LinkedIn profiles to share with those they meet on the night.
A light meal and refreshments will be provided.
