Chief Executive Office

Grand View Manor (GVM) is a non-profit long-term care facility with 5 nursing units and 142 residents, located in beautiful Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. It officially opened its doors on October 31, 1970, and since then, it has been providing a home for seniors where comfort and happiness come first.  Over 200 kind and skilled professionals are employed by GVM to provide loving care within a close-knit community. For over 50 years, staff, and key members of the GVM community have consistently shown that GVM is a place where love is ageless and where they embrace the belief that it takes a community to truly care for seniors.

Now, with the construction of a brand-new replacement facility underway, it is exciting and pivotal for Grand View Manor as they seek their next Chief Executive Officer.

What Does This Role Entail?

Reporting to GVM’s Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) actively collaborates with the Board to establish and refine GVM’s strategic priorities, provides leadership to senior management and staff, ensures efficient operation of all facilities, as well as effective and safe delivery of care in alignment with the evolving needs of the community and residents. With a strong emphasis on preparedness and safety, the CEO oversees the development and implementation of comprehensive short- and long-term operational plans, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards, prioritizing health, and safety, and fostering a proactive approach to emergency preparedness.

As the face of the organization, the CEO represents GVM’s core interests, advocating for and on behalf of GVM and building collaborative relationships within the community, with the government and other key partners of GVM. The CEO plays a critical role in maintaining the facility’s long-term financial sustainability by providing strategic insights on budget revisions, fundraising support, and essential capital projects.
