Senior Director, Inpatient Rehab and Complex Continuing Care

Providing both inpatient and outpatient services, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital provides exceptional care for clients and families. They care for kids with disabilities, kids needing rehabilitation after illness or trauma, and kids whose medical complexity requires a kind of care they can’t get elsewhere else. With a mix of services not offered anywhere else in Ontario, Holland Bloorview partners with clients and families to provide the best interprofessional care within their walls and to prepare families for life beyond them. Through teaching and research, they expand how the best care is defined and take those new insights around the globe.
The Senior Director, Inpatient Rehabilitation and Complex Continuing Care will be a visionary and strengths-based leader, passionate about advancing care for children, youth, and families experiencing disabilities while fostering an exceptional team. This individual will drive strategic and operational excellence, overseeing a diverse range of inpatient and day-patient services tailored to meet the evolving needs of children and youth with complex medical and rehabilitation needs, from birth to age 18. Key specializations include acquired brain injury, specialized orthopedics, and complex transitional care. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role within a world-class pediatric academic teaching center, recognized as a leader in children’s health. In close collaboration with medical leadership and interprofessional teams, the Senior Director will bring Holland Bloorview’s strategic vision to life – elevating operations, strengthening partnerships, and reimagining service delivery to expand the hospital’s impact. The Senior Director will serve as a visible leader across the pediatric healthcare system, fostering collaboration and strengthening partnerships to enhance rehabilitation and complex continuing care for children and youth. This leader will champion a culture of continuous learning and innovation, ensuring that clinical excellence, data-driven decision-making, and compassionate client- and family-centered care remain at the heart of all initiatives.
The ideal candidate is an experienced and forward-thinking senior clinical leader with a deep commitment to pediatric rehabilitation, complex transitional care, and interprofessional collaboration. They will be a proven health system leader with at least seven years of progressive management experience and a deep understanding of hospital operations across multiple sectors. They will hold a master’s degree in a health profession, with registration in a Regulatory Health Profession College preferred. They bring expertise in leading multidisciplinary teams, ideally within pediatrics and/or rehabilitation settings. This leader is empathetic, humble, and deeply invested in team development, fostering a culture of collaboration and partnership-building. They are a data-driven decision-maker who embraces continuous learning and evidence-based practice, leveraging insights to enhance care delivery and operational performance. Above all, they are committed to fostering an inclusive and strengths-based environment, ensuring that families, caregivers, and frontline staff are empowered and engaged in shaping the future of pediatric rehabilitation at Holland Bloorview.
