Sandra Hanmer

Sandra has devoted her professional career to providing senior leadership in health service organizations – CEO, Healthcare of New Zealand, CEO, Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network (WWLHIN), CEO, COTA Health, and Executive Director, VON Waterloo-Wellington-Dufferin. She has also served in senior leadership capacities at Stratford General Hospital, Grand River Hospital, and the Hospital for Sick Children. Sandra’s focus is to support the organization’s commitment to providing accessible, smooth and effective community based health and disability services that make a real difference to people’s lives. Recognized as both a visionary leader and strategic thinker, Sandra has an impressive ability to move programs forward from conception to implementation. She is committed to making a far-reaching contribution and, to that end, takes on the role of mentor to many young professionals. Other commitments to her profession include her role as a Surveyor with the Accreditation Canada, Certified Health Executive and Fellowship Candidate with the Canadian College of Health Leaders. She is an affiliate with the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE), and founding president of the Canadian chapter of the ACHE. Sandra has also been a member of the Australasian College of Health Service Management. Sandra has been an active member of CCHL for 40 years. She has served as Chapter Chair and Co-Chair of the Chapter Advisory Council as well as Chair of the CHE Program Committee. She has served as a member on a number of CCHL Committees including the Energy and Environmental Stewardship Awards Committee, SLD Paper Awards Committee, Exam and SDL Committee. Sandra currently is a member of the Professional Standards Council.
