Bruce Sandy

Bruce Sandy is a certified coach and consultant with over 30 years of experience as a coach, consultant, senior executive, career counselor, recruiter and trainer. He works with executives, physicians, managers, teams, groups and professionals who want more out of their organizations, careers, and relationships. He helps leaders and organizations reach their full potential.

Bruce has worked with executives, physicians, leaders, professionals and entrepreneurs throughout North America, the U.K., Europe, Australia and around the world. He is one of a few select executive coaches for all the BC health authorities, the Government of B.C., the Gov’t. of Alberta, the Gov’t. of Canada, and a number of other public, private and non-profit organizations. His client list includes executives and managers from the B.C. Ministry of Health, all BC Health Authorities , Leaders for Life, Transforming LINX Leadership Program and Methodist Hospitals of Dallas, Texas, to name a few. He has been coaching executives at the VP/CEO level and physician leaders in large complex organizations and governments for over fifteen years. Bruce’s years of experience in health service and medical administration, planning, consulting, and coaching allow him to meet, understand, reflect, inspire, challenge and strategize effectively with health services executives and managers right from the outset of and throughout the coaching relationship. Bruce also trains executive clients on how to coach and work more effectively with Boards, MOHS officials, medical staff, peers, staff, and patients.            
 
Bruce has held executive and leadership positions in hospitals, universities, colleges, private businesses and non-profit organizations in B.C., Ontario and Nova Scotia such as the COO of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario and the Associate Dean of Health at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.  He is the founder and principal of Pathfinder Coaching and Consulting. Bruce is a certified coach and a member of the International Coach Federation. He is a founding director and former executive Board member of the Vancouver Chapter of the International Coach Federation.         

Bruce is an insightful, innovative, inspirational, focused, and humorous individual who loves working with organizations and individuals to help them be their best. He is a certified executive and relationship and organizational systems coach. He has coaching, assessment, and leadership training from the Coaches Training Institute, The Centre for Right Relationship, Team Coaching International, Learning in Action (Emotional Intelligence), ADD Coach Academy, LEADS, and the Newfield Network. Bruce holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Health Services Administration from Dalhousie University. He earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of British Columbia. Bruce is an executive coach for the executive MBA program for health care managers at the Sauder School of Business at UBC and the University of Alberta. He has taught and guest lectured for management and leadership courses at UBC, Dalhousie University and BCIT. Bruce is a regular contributor to The Globe and Mail, the Vancouver Province, and Canada.com on executive and career coaching, leadership, team development, and mentoring.
