Melina Dharma-Wardene

Melina Dharma-Wardene is the Executive Director, reporting to the Board of Directors, at ‘South Calgary Primary Care Network’. SCPCN is a $17M organization providing health care in the Southeast Quadrant of Calgary - in partnership with 261 physicians and 68 clinics. Previously, Melina was an executive with the radiology group ‘Canada Diagnostic Centers’ a $40M private health care organization where she was responsible for bringing in capital via her leadership of the business development and strategic partnerships business units. Melina has also held the positions of CEO at Western Canada’s largest private surgical group ‘Sante Medical and she reported to the CEO as Corporate Secretary for ‘Bethany Care Society’, Western Canada’s largest private seniors care company, operating with an annual budget of $750M. Melina is a cancer scientist with the additional education of a Master of Policy and Management (MPH) from the University of Alberta and an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from the Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary. Melina excels at risk management and stewarding vision and executing on strategy. Melina has experience as a Board Director on boards of various types over the last 10 years. She intends to expand her reach bring diversity of opinion and analysis with her lens of a health care executive to Corporate Boards. Melina is married with a 10-year-old daughter. In her downtime, she enjoys travelling and being active by hiking, skiing, and playing tennis.
