Mike Benallick

Mike is a passionate advocate for leadership development and have served as the Director of Organizational Effectiveness and Leadership with the Saskatchewan Health Authority for the past 8 years. This role has provided him the opportunity and privilege of fostering positive employee experiences by supporting the development of leaders and teams across the great province of Saskatchewan. Mikes 24-year career has been equally divided between higher education and healthcare, allowing him to develop a well-rounded perspective on leadership in diverse settings. He earned his BA in 2000, and since then, has pursued continuous professional development, becoming a Certified LEADS Specialist, a Certified Lean Leader, and is now in the final stages of earning his Certified Health Executive certification. In addition, Mike holds facilitator certifications in Core Strengths, Crucial Conversations, Coaching Out of the Box, and the 5 Behaviours of a Cohesive Team. Outside of work, Mike is celebrating 25 years of marriage, he and his wife are proud parents of three university-aged children. They're avid sports fans, especially loyal to the Blue Jays, and enjoy the ups and downs that come with it. Mikes sense of humor is shaped by many hours spent re-watching The Office and Seinfeld. Ultimately, Mike sees himself as a lifelong learner, with his best lessons coming from the 'School of Hard Knocks.' Life's unpredictability is a constant source of growth and learning. "My passion for leadership and learning is driven by three core beliefs: we get out of life what we put into it; we can't lead others further than we are ourselves; and that what gets modeled, gets followed."
