Helping our CCHL Members Lead in Turbulent Times: A message from our CEO

March 24, 2020

On behalf of our Board of Directors, our members and our staff, I want to personally thank all the dedicated College members, health workers, industry partners and leaders who are actively working diligently to manage the COVID-19 crisis.

The safety and security of our members, event attendees, sponsors, staff, volunteers and partners are a top priority, and we are continuing to actively monitor the advice of public health authorities. The staff of CCHL’s national office will be working from home indefinitely, but we are all connected and available to continue to support our members.

Our College events are being assessed, cancelled or postponed on a daily basis as we continue to monitor developments. Participants are being notified as decisions are being made on specific events. Click here for an update on our June events initially planned to be held in Edmonton, Alberta (the College’s AGM, the Board of Directors meeting, the Chapter Advisory Council, the Corporate Advisory Council meeting, the Joint-Retreat with our Board, Chapters and Staff, the Honouring Health Leadership Gala, the LEADS Exchange Day and the NHLC event).

The CCHL is honouring any extension requests from candidates who are currently completing the Certified Health Executive (CHE). All extension fees due to the COVID-19 crisis will be waived.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the College is rolling out a three-part program to provide our members with real-time, practical and succinct information and support. This includes information in real-time through a special webinar series, a program to manage and facilitate chapter continuity through a structured approach to Annual General Meeting delivery, and finally, a social media strategy to share and disseminate timely and curated information for easy consumption by busy health leaders.

  1. Special Webinar Series

The March 19 Webinar with Dr. Michael Gardam, “Leading in turbulent times – how to guide your teams through the Coronavirus pandemic”, is now available.  View the video here. You can also read Brenda Lammi’s reflections from the March 19 webinar with Dr. Michael Gardam on the College website.

Additional insightful and relevant webinars will be organised and promoted to our members.

  1. Chapter Continuity

The College will work with its 20 Chapters to provide an Annual General Meeting “in a box”, a national program that will allow Chapters to implement their AGM in a timely and efficient manner with minimal effort. The goal is to get our Chapters to manage the “business” of the Chapter AGM and to subsequently focus on resuming the College’s 50th anniversary and other programming as soon as practical.

  1. Access to timely information and curated content
