Horizon Health Network and CCHL Agree To Three-Year Strategic Alliance

March 1, 2023

New partnership agreement serves as an avenue to promote excellence in the health leadership field

Horizon Health Network has signed a new strategic alliance with the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) to increase the leadership capabilities of healthcare managers in New Brunswick and Canada.

Through this agreement, staff of Horizon Health Network and participants in LEADS programming will work towards obtaining their Certified Health Executive (CHE) designation, the only certification program for all Canadian health leaders.

Brenda Lammi, Vice President, Leadership and Professional Development at the CCHL, said: “We are thrilled and looking forward to working with Horizon Health Network by further developing our relationship. Effective leadership is more important than ever in today’s healthcare climate and our collaboration helps us all step into the future of health leadership.  Horizon Health have shown their commitment to health leadership by committing to have the CHE as a preferred designation for their employees.”

Nathan Wright, Regional Director of Workforce Development at Horizon Health Network, said: “We are excited by this strategic alliance with CCHL to ensure high quality development opportunities for our current and future healthcare leaders. We look forward to having more of our staff deepen their knowledge of the LEADS capabilities and putting them into practice throughout all areas of the organization.”

This collaboration will also allow for both organizations to better address the constantly evolving needs of health leaders and align themselves with the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework. This framework is a foundation for Canadian health leadership development and defines the knowledge, skills and attitudes a leader must have to positively contribute to the Canadian healthcare system.
